FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does billing actually work?

You prepay a credit balance (free starter credit gets you going). Each time you download a production sheet, its cost — by printed area or as a small share of your sale, depending on plan — is drawn from the balance. Re-downloading a sheet you already paid for is always free. Every event appears in your transaction log with the running balance.

Do my customers need an account?

No. The builder runs on your product page for any visitor. Their design is attached to the order like any other product option.

What file types can customers upload?

PNG, SVG, PDF, AI, and PSD — up to 150 MB. Transparent backgrounds are required for DTF and the builder enforces it. Print resolution is checked at the actual printed size before purchase.

Where does customer artwork live? Is my shop's data safe?

Artwork is stored encrypted in Google Cloud for rendering, then automatically deleted on a retention schedule after the order completes. Your buyers' order data stays in your store — DTF Pilot never sees your customer list.

What print file do I get?

A full-resolution production PNG at 300 DPI, sized to your sheet, named by order number — plus a visual job report that maps every design on the sheet for your print room.

Can I use it on more than one store?

Yes — plans include multiple store activations under one account, across WooCommerce and Shopify.

What happens if my balance runs out?

New downloads pause until you top up (orders keep coming in as usual — nothing customer-facing ever stops). Enable auto-recharge and your balance refills itself before that happens.

Is there a monthly fee or a contract?

No monthly fee, no contract. Prepaid credit only — if you stop using it, you stop paying. Your remaining balance never expires.

What is the Flight Deck and does it cost extra?

The Flight Deck is our free Mac & Windows app for the print room — every store's orders in one queue (multiple WooCommerce and Shopify stores supported), one-click print files into per-store folders, printable job report PDFs, downloaded ticks, and due-today counts in your menu bar. It's included with every plan; downloads through it use the same wallet and the same once-per-sheet billing as the order page — re-pulls are always free. Get it here.

How do I connect my stores to the Flight Deck app?

Open the Flight Deck and click the gear icon → Settings. Everything below lives on that one screen.

Step 1 — connect your DTF Pilot account (do this first). In the DTF Pilot Account section, paste your license key (starts with GSB-…, from your account) and click Test License. A green “License verified” confirms it.

Shopify — automatic, no keys needed. As soon as your license is verified, every Shopify store that has the DTF Pilot app installed appears under “Stores on this license — monitor”. Just toggle on the ones you want the Flight Deck to pull. That's it — Shopify orders flow in through the cloud, nothing else to enter.

Only for a Shopify store without the DTF Pilot app: open the Shopify Store section and enter the Store Domain (yourstore.myshopify.com) and an Admin API access token (shpat_…). Create the token in Shopify admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app, give it the read_orders scope, install it, and copy the Admin API access token. Paste it and click Test Connection. (Most people never need this.)

WooCommerce — add each store with a REST API key (one-time).

1. In WordPress go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key. Description: “Flight Deck”. User: an admin account. Permissions: Read/Write (Read alone works too if you won't auto-update statuses). Click Generate API key and copy the Consumer key (ck_…) and Consumer secret (cs_…) — they're shown only once.

2. In the Flight Deck's WooCommerce Stores section, click Add WooCommerce Store and fill in: Store URL (e.g. https://yourstore.com), the Consumer key, and the Consumer secret. Optionally set Order Statuses to Query (e.g. pending, processing, processing-dtf, on-hold) — include any custom statuses your shop uses.

3. Click Test Connection — you want “Connected successfully”. Repeat Add WooCommerce Store for each store you run; each gets its own tab, download folder, and downloaded ticks.

Finally, set a Downloads Destination folder (where print files are saved), and optionally turn on Auto-Update WooCommerce Status on Download so an order advances automatically once its sheets are pulled. Click Done — your combined queue is live.

How do I activate DTF Pilot on a WooCommerce store?

Activation takes about a minute and connects your store to your DTF Pilot account with your license key.

1. Get your license key. After you sign up it's shown on your success screen and any time in your account — a string like DTFP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

2. Install the plugin. Download the plugin ZIP, then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, and click Install Now, then Activate.

3. Paste your key. Open Gang Sheets → Settings in the WordPress admin sidebar, paste your license key into the License key field, and click Save. A green “Active” badge confirms the store is connected.

4. Add the builder to a product. Create or edit a product, enable the gang-sheet option, and set your sheet width, pricing mode (per-length or fixed sizes), cut margins, and gaps. Publish, and the builder appears on that product page for your customers.

That's it — no theme edits and no code. Updates arrive automatically once the key is saved.

How do I activate on Shopify?

Shopify needs no key at all. Install the DTF Pilot app from the Shopify App Store — your account and license are created automatically on install. Then open your theme editor, add the DTF Pilot builder block to a product template, and save. You're live. Your Shopify stores also connect to the Flight Deck automatically through the cloud, with nothing to configure.

How do I activate the GangSheet Builder Pro desktop app?

Open the app, choose Activate license (or Help → License), and paste the same DTF Pilot license key from your account. The app checks in with the cloud once, binds to that computer as one seat, and then runs — including offline. Need it on more machines? Add seats from the desktop subscription section of your account, then activate each extra computer with the same key.

Can I move my license to a different computer or store?

Yes. On the desktop app choose Help → Deactivate before you retire a machine to free that seat, then activate on the new one. For WooCommerce, deactivating the plugin (or clearing the key in Gang Sheets → Settings) releases the store activation so you can reuse it elsewhere. Your plan's store and seat counts are shown in your account.

Activation isn't working — what should I check?

Run through these in order:

Copy the key cleanly — no leading/trailing spaces, and use the current key shown in your account.
Check your plan limits — if every store activation or desktop seat is used, free one up (see moving a license above) or add capacity from your account.
Confirm the store can reach us — a firewall or security plugin that blocks outbound HTTPS to our cloud will stop activation; allow-list it.
WooCommerce versions — you need WordPress 6.0+ and WooCommerce 7.0+.
